Lab-grown diamonds are composed of the same chemical structure and are physically identical to natural
diamonds. Both our Natural and Lab-Grown diamonds are selectively sourced and certified. Lab-grown diamonds
cost less and are a responsible choice as they do not require any diamond mining. Naturally-mined Diamonds
are classically considered a better store of value.
Carat
Carat weight is simply a measure of a diamond's size. One carat is equivalent to 200 milligrams. Larger
diamonds are generally more valuable, but carat weight alone does not determine a diamond's worth. The other
3Cs (colour, clarity, and cut) also play a significant role in determining a diamond's value. Most of our
customers order engagement rings between 1 and 3 carats of diamonds.
Colour
When it comes to diamonds, colour refers to the presence of any tint in the stone. The Gemological Institute
of America (GIA) grades diamond colour on a scale from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow or brown). The
closer a diamond is to colourless, the more valuable it is considered to be. Even the slightest variation in
colour can significantly impact a diamond's price. We recommend D, E and F for that colourless appearance.
Clarity
Clarity measures the presence of any internal or external flaws, known as inclusions and blemishes,
respectively. The GIA grades diamond clarity on a scale ranging from Flawless (no inclusions or blemishes
visible under 10x magnification) to Included (inclusions and/or blemishes visible to the naked eye).
Diamonds with higher clarity grades are rarer and more valuable.
Cut
The cut of a diamond refers to how well it has been shaped and faceted. It is often considered the most
crucial factor in determining a diamond's beauty. A well-cut diamond reflects light in a way that maximizes
its brilliance and sparkle. The GIA grades diamond cut on a scale from Excellent to Poor. Diamonds with
excellent cut grades are highly prized for their exceptional brilliance.

Diamonds are the hardest substance on Earth, but they are not indestructible.By taking proper care of your diamond ring, you can keep your ring looking as stunning as the day you received it.
1. Clean your diamond ring regularly
Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the brilliance of your diamond ring. You can clean your ring at home using a mild dish soap and warm water. Soak your ring for about 20-30 minutes, gently brush it with a soft toothbrush to remove any dirt or debris, and rinse it thoroughly. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the metal or the diamond itself.
2. Avoid wearing your diamond ring during certain activities
While diamonds are durable, they can still be damaged by certain activities. It's best to remove your diamond ring when engaging in activities such as gardening, exercising, or cleaning. These activities can expose your ring to chemicals, abrasive materials, or impact, which can potentially harm the diamond or the setting.
3. Store your diamond ring properly
When you're not wearing your diamond ring, it's important to store it properly to prevent scratches or damage. Keep your ring in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewellery box to avoid contact with other jewellery pieces. Avoid storing your diamond ring in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, as they can affect the colour and clarity of the diamond.
4. Get your diamond ring professionally inspected
Even with proper care, it's recommended to have your diamond ring professionally inspected at least once a year. Nnamdi The Jeweller will check the prongs, settings, and overall condition of your ring to ensure everything is secure and in good shape. We will also clean your ring using professional tools and techniques, restoring its brilliance and luster.
5. Consider getting insurance for your diamond ring
Accidents happen, and losing or damaging your diamond ring can be devastating both emotionally and financially. Consider getting insurance for your ring to protect your investment. Insurance can provide coverage for loss, theft, or damage, giving you peace of mind knowing that your precious ring is protected.
By following these expert tips and tricks, you can ensure that your diamond ring remains a symbol of love and beauty for generations to come. Remember, proper care and maintenance are key to preserving the brilliance and sparkle of your diamond ring, allowing it to shine as brightly as your love.
